The weather this week seems to indicate otherwise, but warm weather and sunshine are on the horizon. This means now is the perfect time to get your fingers and toes in tip-top shape for a season of fun in the sun. From new color trends to nail polish styles and specialty spa services, your hands are feet are in for a real treat.
At Backstage Salon in Rowley, the Mint Melon Mojito seasonal manicure and pedicure are on the menu. These specialty services include a sea salt, rosemary and organic mint tea soak, a vodka and raspberry extract polish, and a relaxing massage with a cucumber and melon lotion that is sure to mentally transport you from spa to sea.
Located on Osgood Street in North Andover, Bella Vita Salon and Spa is preparing for summer with the new OPI Spring/Summer 2017 California inspired collection that includes vibrant shades of pinks and oranges. Many of the colors are available in the line’s traditional nail lacquer as well as in the gel and infinite shine options. Fans of HBO’s recent hit series Big Little Lies, which features sections of Monterey and the Big Sur coastline, might find themselves especially partial to the line’s new rose tone named “Excuse Me, Big Sur!” Other original colors include the shimmering slate toned, “Don’t Take Yosemite for Granite” and a sparkling gold called “Sweet Carmel Sunday” named for California’s romantic and artsy Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Bella Vita also carries products from the Farmhouse Fresh line that are sure to help turn back the hands of time (pun intended!) on tired hands and feet. They offer the Honey Heel Glaze which is essentially like walking around in a new pair of feet (seriously it is a must try) after application. This product is non-greasy, paraben and sulfate free, and everything awesome. If you’re not convinced yet, this moisture serum has also made the Wellness Edition List in O magazine (yes, we’re talking about that Oprah).
Bella Vita also has a sport manicure, perfect for those who prefer a more understated finish to their nails. This is a great service for men, regardless of whether they are accustomed to nail treatments or first-time salon goers.
While we’ll likely continue to see many models and celebrities sporting long, sculpted nails throughout the summer, this is not the most practical option for most people. But don’t worry, because short, well-manicured nails are also on trend and look perfectly put together when topped with a fresh color.
