The Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) presents yoga on the side lawn of the museum’s historic Ropes Mansion (318 Essex Street) every Monday afternoon from 4:30pm-5:30pm, June 20 through October 1. Following on the heels of this spring’s highly successful #PEMyoga series held inside Anila Quayyum Agha’s Intersections gallery, PEM invites the community to join in meditation and movement in the verdant outdoors.
“I’ve had the privilege of leading yoga classes with the PEM community for more than a decade and look forward to teaching a revitalizing summer series in such an inspiring and peaceful outdoor environment,” said yoga instructor Susan Himml.
Participants are encouraged to stroll the property’s gardens before or after class and document their experiences on social media using #PEMyoga. Classes are 1-hour long, weather dependant and BYOM (Bring Your Own Mat). The $13 participation fee may be paid to the instructor in cash or check.
