At this point, even the haters will have difficulty denying that Tom Brady is the Greatest Of All Time. After a clutch win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, the GOAT is leading the Patriots in his ninth Super Bowl appearance, against the Los Angeles Rams on Feb. 3 in Atlanta.
Now Royal Jewelers in Andover is offering one lucky person the chance to own a Tag Heuer watch designed by Brady himself – whose status as a fashion icon is almost as well known as his talent on the field.
The watch commemorates Brady’s fifth Super Bowl victory in 2017 – the one that cemented his status as the quarterback with the most Super Bowl wins. Only 466 were produced –the number of yards he threw in Super Bowl LI.
Brady was deeply involved in the design process, says Steven Leed, co-CEO of Royal. And Leed should know. Brady told him about it personally at a dinner with Tag Heuer when the watch debuted.
“Tom was really enthused about his watch,” Leed says. “He was passionate and at the same time humble. The guy is genuine.”
Of course, Brady owns watch number one – and the quarterback’s dad wears one as well. Of what remained, the Andover jeweler quickly became the single top selling location for the limited edition watch in the world. So they grabbed all the inventory they could (Leed snapped one up for himself). Now there are less than 23 available and Royal holds them all.
“The people at Royal love the Patriots, Tom Brady and the Brady watch,” Leed says. “When you think about how big world is, it’s amazing Royal Jewelers in the little town of Andover has placed over 25 percent of the Brady watches on wrists.”
It’s a very special timepiece, Leed says, noting that while Royal has sold many celebrity-endorsed watches, this is the first where the star was involved in the design itself. Some highlights: the large number 12 on the face matches the 12 on Brady’s jersey. The strap is pigskin-look in Patriots blue and red, while the box is made from the same fabric as the Pats’ uniforms. The back of the watch, which retails for $5,750, is etched with the number 12 and Brady’s signature.
Royal has shipped the watches all over the country and into Canada, where the GOAT has many admirers, Leed says. And now it’s your shot.
